Directions to the Local History & Genealogy Center
From Indianapolis:
Take I-69 North to exit 34 (Daleville) turn right (east) on State Road 67. You will drive about 13 miles on Highway 67 (don’t speed through Daleville!) and then you will see the Hoyt Avenue exit. Take that exit. Just past the cemetery, you will turn left on Hoyt Avenue. Take Hoyt Avenue all the way to Liberty Street (you will cross over the railroad tracks) turn left and take that to Jackson Street. Turn right on Jackson Street and take that to Jefferson Street. You will see the Carnegie Branch on the corner. Turn right on Jefferson Street. The Local History & Genealogy Center is right next to the Carnegie Building.
Another option is to take Highway 32. You will still get off at exit 34 from I-69 but you would continue straight. Highway 32 turns into Kilgore Avenue in Muncie and you could take that straight to Jackson Street.
From Fort Wayne:
Take I-69 South to exit 41. Highway 332 turns into McGalliard Road. (You will be very close to the Ball State campus.) Take that to Tillotson Avenue, turn right and go straight to Kilgore Avenue. (You will see a very large Paul Bunyon statue on the corner of Tillotson and Kilgore) Turn left and take that to Jackson Street. Turn right on Jackson and take that to Jefferson Street.
The address for the Local History & Genealogy Center is 210 S. Jefferson Street. If you are new to Muncie, please be aware there are a lot of one way streets in the downtown area.
Have a safe trip!
